She is responsible for introducing the Aquababies baby and toddler swimming program to the UK, China, Jordon, Turkey, Malta, Cyprus, Barcelona, Poland, Indonesia and many more countries. She has just developed several brand new aqua based fitness programs for mothers and babies called Parent and baby Aquafit (PABA) and a Parent & Baby Spa. Both worlds first innovative products.

All babies are born with the natural ability to hold their breath underwater. This is known as the “mammalian diving response”. This natural reflex is not something we rely on. We would prefer to teach the children to hold their breath in a relaxed manner. This forms part of the baby swimming class structure in order to help your child gain confidence in the water.
Our parent and baby swimming classes are designed to educate not only the child but the parent too. We understand the importance of teaching parents why children relate to certain exercises due to their reflexes and we help to manage their expectations. The main factor is to have fun whist learning essential life skills!
Recent statistics show that nearly 500 babies drown each year, often in very shallow water. The ultimate goal of Aquababies is to teach swimming so that babies will be water-safe. We have lesson plans for all age groups derived from Australian and English techniques. Stroke style and structure is important to Aquakiddies but we do add the element of fun! We do not like the old-fashioned regimented techniques so enjoying the lessons in essential.

As an Ambassador, Julie-Ann’s role was to travel the UK teaching not only baby swimming, but also Pre and postnatal swimming for women. Julie-Ann’s whole life has been devoted to teaching babies, children, adults, Pre and post-natal women of all age groups to swim. Her knowledge is constantly evolving through researching, swimming and aquatic activities with parents and babies.
