An applicant can start a specific trade or business in a particular region with the help of a trade licence, which is a paper or certificate. The trade licence holder is not permitted to utilise it for any other employment or enterprise. To start a business in a certain place or area, a state, corporation, or municipality must get a trade licence registration from the relevant central or state government. Any mark, logo, name, symbol, letter, figure, or word used by an individual or a business to distinguish its goods or services from those made or marketed by others is considered a Trademark Registration. Customers must therefore be able to distinguish one's goods or services from those of competitors. The provisions of the Trade Marks Act of 1999 regulate trademark registration.
