Periodontitis- Periodontitis, or gum infection that  is commonly seen in people. It damages the soft tissue and bone supporting the tooth. If the infection is not treated before time, the bone around the teeth is slowly lost. The name “periodontitis” means “means inflammation around the tooth.” Poor bacteria stick to the surface of the tooth and in the periodontal pockets surrounding the tooth resulting in gum infection.Untreated periodontitis will eventually result in tooth loss. Not only will it damage the oral health, it will also increase the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other health problems. A sticky plaque and tartar colorless membrane develops over the surface of teeth, is a common sign for periodontal disease. If plaque is not removed, it can harden to form tartar.
