Driver's Age
The driver is required to be at least 20 years old and have a valid driving license for a minimum period of 1 year, prior to renting.
Driving License
If the renter does not have a European driving license an International license must be presented.
Additional Drivers
Naming additional drivers is free of charge. You must inform the car hire agency of the name of the second driver or of any additional drivers and this should appear on the car rental contract.
Traffic Tickets and Fines
Any traffic tickets and fines which are received during the renting period are the responsibility of the renter. The car hire company should be informed about any such traffic violation or tickets.
Fuel Policy
Fuel is recorded on the car rental contract at the start of the rental period and must be returned at the same level at the end of the journey.
In case of an accident
If an accident occurs you must inform the authorities and a police report must be made. You must also immediately alert the rental company. The renter is fully accountable for the repairs to the car, if the police do not carry out a report. This report eliminates any responsibility for the renter. Do not make any unauthorized repairs to the rental car.
Late car returning
You must return the rented car at the designated place and time stated on the rental contract. If you inform our company, a 1 hour delay will not be charged, otherwise a late return fee will be added to your final price (next 3 hours are charged at €10 per hour).
Delivery & Collection of cars
After-hour deliveries (22:30 - 07:30) are charged an additional €15, payable upon arrival.
Cancellations
RhodeCar reserves the right to cancel any confirmed reservation at any time (before the car rental period has started or during the rental period), if the client misbehaves or disregards the company's rental policies.
Rentals outside the border and ferries.
Transporting the car to and from any other island or the mainland is prohibited. All insurances will be rejected and the renter will be responsible for any damage caused, if the vehicle is driven elsewhere than in Rhodes. Written permission by our firm is mandatory for any renter who wishes to use ferries and transport the rental car to another island.
Alcohol, drugs and Driving
For neglectful or drunk driving, driving while intoxicated with illegal substances, driving in prohibited areas or evident disregarding actions to the car, the renter is fully accountable for all charges.
Vehicle key loss
The key is not covered by the insurance. The renter is responsible for all the charges to replace car keys which have been damaged or lost.
Pick up and Drop off locations
Depending on distance between our offices and the chosen pick up/ drop off location, extra charges may apply. Please contact us for more information.
Children's seats
Booster and baby seats are free of charge and available upon renter’s request.
